Item Description
Original cardboard box w/nicely illustrated lid contains the first Superman timepiece produced, made in 1940 by New Haven Clock Co. and distributed by The Everbrite Watch Co. Inc. 1.25" chromed metal case. Dial features color illustration of Superman from knees up w/"Superman" name running across lower body. Original leather bands appear unused and are Exc. Crystal has yellowed w/age and has lt. wear. Dial shows lt. aging. Case retains near full luster. Watch winds and ticks a bit but would benefit from a cleaning to keep accurate time. VF overall. Box lid has "Evidence For ID." inkstamp w/faint inked text, indicating this is a file copy example. Lid shows edge/corner tip wear and is evenly aged. Original die-cut illustrated insert has some creases where watch attached to insert. Fine overall. Franco Toscanini Collection.
