Item Description
7.5x10.5" stiff art paper has 6.75x9-5/8" India ink image area with interesting scene of woman with bow and arrow aiming at alien space girl who is firing at her from mid-air. Art is signed in ink at lower right "W Pini '74". Art is Exc. and has attached tissue overlay noting the illustration was for the story "The Frontliners" and appeared as a double page in the July issue of Galaxy magazine. Pini did several covers and illustrations for Galaxy science fiction magazine in the 1970s before launching Elfquest in 1978. Her and husband Richard Pini have won several awards over the years including the 1979 and 1980 Alley Award and the 1984 New York State Jaycees Distinguished Service Award. Wonderful early example of Wendy Pini art.
