Item Description
1942 poster is 14x18" with nice graphics of Joe Dope covered in barbed wire looking at viewer stuck in Jeep which has tires flattened by barbed wire. Poster has text poem at top and text at bottom "Don't Be A Dope! Handle Equipment Right". Poster is signed "Pvt. Will Eisner Aberdeen Pvg. Gds". Poster has vertical and horizontal folds through center as issued, bit of lt. tanning along right side with a few handling creases. Overall VG. Comes with eight issues of "Army Motors". Each is 6x8" with an average of 32 pages. 1944 dates are Oct. and Dec., 1945 dates are Jan., Feb., April, May, Aug., and Sept. All feature technical information on maintaining vehicles and all have art by Will Eisner including a two page "Joe Dope" story in 7 of 8 issues. All have lt. vertical fold in center as mailed, a few other lt. handling creases but overall group is Fine. Obscure and well drawn items by one of the top comic book artists in history.
