Item Description
See lot #2200 for a history of these dolls and description of the notarized statement. Mickey is made of black corduroy and red corduroy pants. The face, gloves and shoes are of a fabric with much smaller weave. Mickey is missing one oilcloth eye and the other shows a little wear but nothing too serious. His face does have some gray marks on the white area, most noticeably on the right side of his nose. Also on the right side where his cheek meets his neck there is a .5” dia. missing spot of white material but not noticeable from the front view. All 4 pants buttons are here. The seam on the left arm has just a couple loose stitches. It appears the left hand once came off but it has been replaced and is still firmly attached. The back of the right foot has a .25” spot of missing brown material at the ankle area while below around the shoe sole area there is a spot missing about .5” wide by about .75” long. Attached to the other foot is the label Charlotte used on her dolls which includes a small image of Mickey’s head and the text “A Charlotte Clark Creation/Made Especially For Walt Disney/©W.D. Productions.” Overall condition is VG. Second is Donald in blue corduroy outfit. Other fabrics are of a finer weave and include yellow felt pads under his feet. His head once came off and has been rather crudely stitched back on but this could easily be improved upon. Stitching is missing from the front end of his beak but remains on the left and right sides. He has a small hole on his front just below the shirt edge but hardly showing although with a couple of somewhat larger dots of material off above his right leg. This area is about .25” wide in a curved .5” long line. His oilcloth eyes remain intact as do the fabric accents on the back of his hat and the bow on the front of his jacket plus all 4 complete buttons. His ankle has the same stitched tag as on the Mickey doll. Lt. general all-over soiling. Overall condition remains Good. Comes with notarized statement and Hake’s COA. See item #2200 for details. A unique, hand-crafted pair.
