Item Description
13" tall statue of topless young woman. 1970. Sculpted in three distinct castings. The first were 10 cast in plaster in 1970 that Jones gave away as promotional or gifts. The second, also cast in 1970, was an edition of 100 cast in Vatican stone and signed by Jones in pencil. This statue is of that signed edition. There were another 100 cast in 1976 and unsigned. All versions were cast and hand finished by Jones. Statue has lt. aging/wear/dust soiling w/lt. patina. Very rare. Jeffery Catherine Jones was an American artist whose work includes cover art for many books as well as fine art. Although Jones first achieved fame as simply Jeff Jones and lived for a time as a male, she later changed her name and was legally recognized as a female later in life.
