Item Description
7.5" tall statue of crouching caveman. 1973. Edition of 100 cast in Vatican stone. This statue is an unsigned and unumbered proof. Cast and hand finished by Jones. Jones modeled for this piece and it also was a study that Jones did as several different paintings at a later date. Statue has lt. aging/wear/dust soiling w/lt. patina. Very rare. Jeffery Catherine Jones was an American artist whose work includes cover art for many books as well as fine art. Although Jones first achieved fame as simply Jeff Jones and lived for a time as a male, she later changed her name and was legally recognized as a female later in life.
