Item Description
Pen and ink original art for complete six-page story published by in "Speed Comics" #37 by Family Comics in 1945. Art is by Ed Wheelan and was for World War II "Padlock Homes" story in which first page is recap w/villains Green Ghost (depicted by Nazi swastika) and the "Infamous Four" Japanese soldiers as well as man wearing KKK-like outfit and brandishing knife and gun. Story picks up from previous issue (see previous item) and shows the Professor surviving the attempt on his life. Story continues w/Padlock Homes and Dr. Watsis trying to uncover the Green Ghost's plan by interrogating the Professor in his hospital bed as well as Japanese prisoner of war before capturing Soki of the "Infamous Four." Of note, Japanese are depicted in politically-incorrect manner of the era. Artboards each measure approx. 11.25x14.5" and show some scattered dust soiling and edge/corner tip wear. Fine/VF overall.
