Item Description
14.25x21.75" artboard has pen and ink original art for an early unpublished Superman story by John Sikela, who was Joe Shuster's assistant. This story, "The Secret Of The Chinese Dragon" was later redrawn by Wayne Boring and published in "Superman" #54 in Oct. 1945. Art features five panels showing Ting Ling being picked up by dragon as her husband Ah Choo threatens to cut said dragon in half. Superman, already inside the dragon, tickles the dragon's throat, causing the dragon to blow smoke in Ah Choo's face as he throws sword at the dragon's neck. Superman escapes and the blood from the dragon's wound causes a money tree to grow. This last panel is a 6-3/8x14.25" paste-over w/all original art. Bottom margin has blue pencil "Blood Of The Dragon/Secret Of The Chinese Dragon" title. Artboard has horizontal fold at center and shows some scattered lt. handling wear and dust soiling, but art remains clean and VF overall.
