Item Description
Pair of thin artboards w/pen and ink original art for "Flash Gordon" daily strip  w/art by Dan Barry (who had illustrated the "Flash Gordon" daily strip since 1951 and worked on the Sunday page from 1967-1990). Each strip features three panels. 6.25x17-3/8" artboard for Feb. 2, 1961 daily strip has printed "Deathfighters" sequence title at top of each along w/"Week 8" notation and date. Art features Admiral questioning a Captain's decision to fight "'Fitted' People" in the Hotside, calling it a suicide mission. Pin holes at top corners and across top margin w/slightly uneven bottom margin as trimmed. .25" spot of staining at lower right. Artboard is aged and Fine overall, but art remains clean and VF/Exc. 5.75x16.75" artboard for May 5, 1964 has printed "Solid Gold Bomb" sequence title at top along w/"Week 11" notation and date. Art features American Sally and Flash hijacking car to get to port in time to stop Hamid Al Fence's ship. Art has aged screentone accents and second and third panels have had small cuts made, removing some text. Pin holes at top corners and across top margin. VG/Fine overall w/VF art.
