Item Description
11.75x17.5" thin artboard w/India ink original art by "Bringing Up Father" creator George McManus. Art is for Aug. 18, 1935 and features nine panels. Although the top half of the page is missing, the remaining panels still present the page's gag well, showing Maggie and Jiggs entertaining Mr. DeBate, who proceeds to inform them of all the social mistakes they are making. After he leaves, Maggie sends Jiggs to the drugstore to pick up a few things, only for Jiggs to return w/a totally different assortment of goods as Mr. DeBate was also there and proceeded to tell him how he was ordering everything incorrectly, much to Maggie's shock. McManus has signed last panel. Eighth panel has King Features Syndicate copyright strip. This panel also has personalized inscription from McManus to fellow cartoonist Joe Musial (of "The Katzenjammer Kids"  fame) w/"1935" date. Artboard is evenly aged and has a few spots of minor soiling. Pin hole at upper right corner and two faint date stamps along right margin. Residue from scrapbook mounting on back. Aside from this, are remains clean and VF overall.
