Item Description
15.5x22" thin artboard w/India ink original art by "Polly And Her Pals" creator Cliff Sterrett. Art is for Oct. 27, 1935 and features nine panels. Although the top three panels of the page is missing, the remaining panels still present the page's gag well, showing two men watch a parade of women walking by in the most fashionable and expensive coats of 1935. Paw Perkins arrives w/his cat Kitty in fourth panel where the men ask how he can afford to buy all those coats of the women who passed by, to which Paw angrily replies by opening his coat, which is filled w/holes, saying "Mine's A 1910!" Sterrett has signed last panel. Eighth panel has personalized inscription from Sterrett to fellow cartoonist Joe Musial (of "The Katzenjammer Kids"  fame) w/"With Best Wishes" inscription. Artboard is evenly aged and has a few spots of staining along top/bottom margins, w/some minor staining in third panel (not affecting main art). Pin holes at upper corners and at printer registration marks in left/right margins. Artboard is Fine overall and aside from margin staining, art remains clean and VF overall. Scarce art, even as incomplete.
