Item Description
11-3/8x14.5" thin artboard has pen and ink original art for "Imperial Song Book" premium issued by Imperial Beer in the 1950s. Text is all hand-lettered w/exception of bottom lines, which are state paste-overs. Artboard has paper overlay attached at top which has mixed media coloring for the premium book cover. Some handwritten notes at margins in pencil. Overlay shows some rippling due to paint and has some handling creases. VG/Fine. Pen and ink art has some aging to stat paste-overs, but is o/w clean and Exc. 11.5x14.5" Strathmore artboard has pen and ink for page 5, featuring singing chorus at bottom center and trapeze artist at top center. Artboard has two blocks set aside for book text, which are paste-over stats (which show scattered aging). Artboard has pinholes at top corners and some scattered dust soiling. Fine overall, but art remains clean and VF/Exc. Page art comes w/hand-colored stat of this page, which has some editorial notations. Lot also includes 5.25x8-1/8" printed copy of the actual premium booklet. Some lt. aging/handling wear. VF/Exc. Last item is 5.25x8.25" mock-up of "Bert And Harry's Song Book" featuring Piels Beer mascots. Front cover is all original art and pages are printed examples w/references to other company covered w/white correctional fluid. Painted back cover has "A Creation Of Sam Gold - Premium King" foil crown sticker. Pinholes at top corners of front cover but VF/Exc. overall. Unique lot. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold and comes with LOA.
