Item Description
Exceptional four-piece lot showing the progression for this premium produced in the 1950s. Lot includes pair of artboards (measuring 13-3/8x15.25" and 14x15.75"). Larger artboard features mixed media, full color original art of hat, complete w/Borden Elsie flower logo. Some handwritten pencil text at bottom w/art having some tape staining surrounding it. Acetate mechanical overlay covers original art and has printed portions of design, including "Elsie's Good Food Line" text on hatband and assembly instructions on brim. Artboard is Fine overall w/all over glue staining on back, though art remains bright, clean and Exc. for display. Smaller artboard features pen and ink original art outline of premium hat w/hand-lettered text at bottom and two small paste-over pieces featuring original art of hat itself and on boy's head. Some tape staining at top corners and on brim of hat. Fine overall. 8.25x8.5" clipped cardstock has printed test proof Borden Elsie flower logo. Exc. Final piece in lot is actual production die-cut cardstock premium hat which measures 10x11.5". Four small tears by sizing holes, but is o/w unused and Exc. Unique lot for the advertising collector. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold and comes with LOA.
