Item Description
17.75x24.5" thin artboard w/India ink original art by "Dennis The Menace" creator Hank Ketchum. Art is for Dec. 22, 1974 Sunday page and features title panel stat paste-over w/12 panels of art depicting Dennis getting ready for bed on Christmas Eve, talking to his mother about Santa Claus and Christmas. They discuss that not every family has it as good as they do at Christmas time and to focus on good Christmas memories. Dennis remembers his Christmas the year prior, hoping to do as just well. Alice Mitchell is joined by Henry, who tells him not to worry about it. Lower left has small hand-lettered Publishers Hall Syndicate copyright text. Pin holes at corners. Margins have a few editorial notes and artboard has some lt. aging/handling wear. VF overall w/art remaining clean and Exc. Comes w/matching 9-5/8x13.5" printed stat which has been nicely hand watercolored as a guide for printing purposes. Sheet has 2.5" crease at lower left and some handling wear but is o/w bright, clean and VF overall. Great Christmas content, showing Dennis w/Christmas tree in a number of panels.
