Item Description
13x17" mat w/four openings contains four separate 4x6" pieces of paper w/preliminary pencil original art by "Peanuts" creator Charles Schulz for 1970s Butternut Bread advertising campaign. All four pieces of paper (attached to mat backing w/fabric tape at top) feature Linus and hand-lettered word balloons w/promotional text. Text refers to peanut butter sandwiches, mothers meeting "spoiled" children at the bus stop w/Butternut Bread sandwiches, Linus dreaming about being offered Butternut Bread's president's daughter's hand, only to reject it for more bread and Linus peeking through a piece of bread w/a hole in it, stating "The World Looks Rosy Through A Slice Of Butternut Bread." Sheets have lt. margin aging but are Exc. overall and ready for framing.
