Item Description

23x29" thin artboard has pen and ink original art for Sept. 1, 1963 Sunday page, featuring 11 panels. Art by Gene Hazelton features The Flintstones and The Rubbles arriving for vacation at "Sea Breeze Resort." While Wilma and Betty take the kids back to their rooms, Fred and Barney are buried in activities, including "Dino Back Riding," scuba diving, golf, tennis and more, which exhausts the pair. Fred and Barney sneak back to their rooms for some rest only for their wives to announce a night of dancing ahead of them, much to the pair's chagrin. McNaught Syndicate paste-over in eighth panel and handwritten Hanna-Barbera copyright in last panel. "Hanna-Barbera's" title paste-over has peeled up slightly but remains affixed, as does pair of replaced text balloons. Second and third panels have some glue staining from application of now-missing text corrections. Faint vertical crease at center, but art is o/w Exc.
