Item Description
13.25x20.5" thin artboard features artist Jack Sparling's pen and ink original art for page 18 of the March 1967 issue of "X-Men" #30, published by Marvel Comics. Sparling worked on a wide variety of comic titles for several companies; some titles of note include - "Challengers Of The Unknown, House Of Mystery, Strange Adventures, Boris Karloff Tales Of Mystery, Ripley's Believe It Or Not!, The Twilight Zone" and more. This was the only issue of "X-Men" Sparling drew. Six panel page features Beast facing down and disarming knight charging him on horseback, armed w/a lance. Beast then jumps on the horse and he, Cyclops, Iceman and Angel face down approaching attackers in castle. Beast appears in four panels (w/his foot an another), Cyclops appears in two panels (blasting his optic beam in last panel), Iceman appears in two panels (freezing ground under horses) and Angel appears in last panel. Page has been inked by John Tartaglione. Margins have production notations w/stamped title and inked issue/page number at top. Artboard has some scattered lt. handling wear/aging and is Fine/VF overall w/Exc. art.
