Item Description
Pair of 10-5/8x15.75" thin artboards feature artist Barry Windsor-Smith's pen and ink original art for pages 16-17 of the April 1969 issue of "Daredevil" #51, published by Marvel Comics. Smith is a British comic book illustrator/painter whose best known work was produced in the US, including his work on Marvel's "Conan The Barbarian" from 1970 to 1973. Page 16 features seven panels and features Daredevil falling and returning to his wrecked apartment in a weakened state. Daredevil appears in all panels, four in costume. Page 17 features 10 panels and shows Matt Murdock calling Karen Page, joyous in the fact that Karen loved Matt, not Daredevil. Pages have been inked by George Klein. Top margins have production notations w/stamped title and inked issue/page numbers. Bottom/side margins have some handwritten production notations in red ink. Reverse of page 17 has extensive handwritten notes w/four pieces of aged tape (not affected front's display). Page 16 has upper right corner clipped and page 17 has lower right clipped. This does not affect art in any way. Fine/VF overall w/Exc. art.
