Item Description
Pair of artboard w/mixed media original art depicting the main box lid art for two Pyro Plastics model kits. 18x22" artboard w/original paper overlay (w/moderate wear) has art for 1967 Pyro model kit No. B212-400, the Dutch man-of-war Gouda warship. Art shows side view of ship, w/lion figurehead and matching standard flying aft. No background was featured on model kit box. Art is signed by A.J. Rudisill, an internationally-acclaimed artist whose work has been exhibited at major galleries throughout the country. Earlier in his career Rudisill provided stunning model kit box art, such as offered here. Art area measures 14.75x20.5". Printing labels at center margins. Center left margin has 3-3/8" tear to artboard as well as paper overlay. Corners have some scattered wear w/creasing. Fine overall, but art still displays nicely. 17-1/8x24-1/8" artboard has art for late 1950s Pyro "Round The World Boats" model kit No. 318, a Burmese Paddy Boat. Art shows men piloting the boat on waters close to shore, Burmese city visible in distant bkg. Art is signed by Russell W. Arnold. Art area takes up the entire artboard. Lower right corner has some long streaks of color rubbing, but this does not greatly detract from overall appearance of art. Corners show some wear but if framed, art would display Exc.
