Item Description
Original illustrated cardboard box contains 10.5" long futuristically-designed painted aluminum gun by Longren Aircraft Company as noted by added sticker on box end. 1948. Box features illustrations of gun as well as how to use. Two main side panels each features full body portraits of Flash Gordon and Dale Arden, each meant to be cut out. Box shows some scattered wear w/creases and edge/corner tip wear. One end flap missing flap edge and has been glued to inner flaps. Box has some small splits at corners. VG/Fine. Box is scarce. Longren box label shows some scattered insect damage and is VG. Despite this label, gun has stamped "Budson Air-Ray Gun" name on cocking mechanism on top and plain aluminum nozzle rim, indicating that Longren likely took over production of this toy gun at some point. Cocking mechanism moves up and down but rubber bladder inside has disintegrated and as such, gun no longer produces the strong blast of air it was designed to. Gun has scattered paint nicks/scratches and is Fine overall.
