Item Description
Set of four 14.5x17x7/8" deep laminated paper tray cases, each w/attached illustrated plate on lid w/respective artist's name. Each folio includes eight high quality two-color plate prints, all of which have been signed and numbered in pencil on Plate 1, w/the exception of Jeffrey Jones, who has signed on Plate 2. Other artists include Robert Gould, Alan Lee and Barry Windsor-Smith. Printed 1982-1983. Also included w/set is promotional material including a letter from Robert Gould and order form for these sets. Gould has inscribed "For Brian" by his signature. Edition numbers are as follows - Jones 21/750, Gould 504/780, Lee 189/750, Windsor-Smith 118/750. In "The Drawing Collection," Cygnus offers 300-line screen reproductions of the highest quality, true to the drawings in line and color, on Dulcet, a neutral pH, archival paper. Each folio contains an essay describing the nature/content of the works. Some lt. wear but NM overall. From the collection of comics and illustration historian Brian M. Kane.
