Item Description
James Bama revolutionized the paperback book industry in the 1960s, providing stunning cover art for horror, sci-fi, adventure and Western books. His work has become synonymous w/the character Doc Savage, his depiction becoming one of the most often seen of the pop culture character. Bama also produced the classic box art for the Aurora Universal Monster model kits. Offered here is a factory-sealed limited edition "James Bama - American Realist" hardcover w/matching slipcase and accompanying DVD of the same name. Published by Flesk Publications in 2006, the limited edition was issued in the amount of 1,000 and has been signed by Bama, writer Brian M. Kane and Paul Jilbert (who produced the included film about Bama) and is numbered on a separate bound-in illustration sheet featuring a self portrait by Bama. As factory-sealed, shrink-wrap has small sticker noting this as No. 29 of 1,000. NM. Book comes w/issue #16 of "Illustration" magazine published Spring 2006 and features cover by Bama w/article about film included above and features his Aurora art. Pair of 15.75x24" very limited edition prints featuring Bama's Doc Savage art. First is titled "Phantom City" and has been numbered 56/150. Second is titled "World's Fair Goblin" and has been numbered 61/150. Printed by Graphitti Designs, Inc.and ©1992 Conde Nast Publications, Inc.
