c. mid 1930s. 7.5x10" glossy bw photo w/original "Arrow Studio" photographer's stamp on reverse features photo of eight men on horses w/polo gear ready to start polo game between Charlie Farrell's Cats and Mickey Mouse at the Riviera Country Club in Santa Monica, CA. Back of photo has handwritten note by unidentified team member that lists each member including Walt Disney at far right as well as "Gone With The Wind" star Leslie Howard and Disney animator Dick Lundy. Of special note, teenage boys hold reins of two polo ponies, each w/giant Charlotte Clark Mickey Mouse or Minnie Mouse dolls seated on backs. Photo has some handling wear w/creases at corners and lt. aging. VF/Exc. Comes w/9-3/8x12.25" August 25, 1935 "Riviera Chukker" polo publication that features nice corresponding article about Walt Disney and his affinity for polo. Publication shows obvious wear w/edge tears and scattered moisture staining/soiling at edges. VG. An esoteric pair for the Walt Disney collector.
