Item Description
Original cardboard box w/nicely illustrated lid contains 10.75" tall (15" tall to top of antenna) robot made in Japan by Alps, c. 1959. Box shows some scattered wear w/corner creases and some edge creases to lid. Lid has moderate but even aging and this does not detract from overall appearance and all colors are bright and strong. Fine. Robot is mostly tin litho w/hard plastic hands and transparent cover on front half of head. Attached to robot by a metal chain is a silvered metal antenna unit that attaches to the top of its head and serves as the on/off switch. Toy works and walks forward as his arms swing and his eyes spin. Mouth area is covered by a plastic panel which shows colored lights and on his chest is a television screen which lights up and features full color scene including lunar landscape and satellites. Very minor traces of wear, w/trace of oxidation to top of air tank battery compartment and small spot on top of one arm. Antenna has lt. oxidation but overall robot remains bright and glossy. VF.
