Item Description
3x5" unlined index card has nice blue ink inscription that reads "Your Father And Mother Are Giving Us A Wonderful Time, Here In Disneyland. My Very Best Wishes To You Cathy - Cordially Norman Rockwell." Rockwell has signed card in his typical artist's signature of blocked letters as well as his legal signature, adding "November 26, 1961" date. That Thanksgiving weekend in 1961, Rockwell was visiting Southern California after his Oct. 25 wedding to Molly Punderson. One of their hopes for this trip included a meeting w/Norman's long-time friend Walt Disney. However, Walt's schedule didn't allow for the visit, so he asked his trusted Disneyland public relations man Rodney "Bud" Coulson and his wife Elizabeth, to escort the Rockwells throughout the park that day. At day's end, Rockwell provided this personalized autograph for Coulson's daughter, Cathy. This includes the very rare double signature on a single document mentioning his visit to Disneyland. Card has pinholes at top corners. VF/Exc. Comes w/handwritten note from Coulson stating how the signed card came to be and her love of Norman Rockwell art. As unique a signed Rockwell item as you will find. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
