5-3/8x21” thin art board has 4.75x19.75” India ink image area w/three panels for July 22. Moon and Mr. Gladiola are in all three panels trying to relax after Moon thought Gladiola was a burglar and they had a fight. Mrs. Gladiola shows up w/a policeman to have them both arrested amidst all the wreckage. Third panel has ink signature “Willard” and second ink inscription “To Lloyd Hutchinson With Best Wishes From Willard”. Complete w/ Chicago Tribune copyright strip. Center panel has vertical crease as mailed, margins have edge wear most noticeable across bottom edge. Image area. VG. Well drawn early example given to fellow cartoonist Sam Lloyd Hutchinson, noted for creating Parky the Kangaroo.
