8x10" thin board w/fully painted art which is signed at lower right "Jorge S." Great pitching action pose of him on the mound in his Habana Lions uniform. Nicely detailed with advertisement covered wall behind him along with an outfielder visible in the bkg. Top left has title w/his name and "Pitcher". Below this is Lions pennant. A prominent pitcher in the Negro Leagues, Manning played for the Newark Eagles between 1938-1949 and helped them win the 1946 Negro League World Series. He also had stints in the Mexican and Cuban Leagues, as evidenced by this rendering of him. Exc. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
