Item Description
Thin art board has 5.75x22.25” India ink image area w/four panels for June 25 strip #302. Pappy has taken a letter addressed to family from post office and Mammy thinks “You Done Stole It, Pappy?”. She points a rifle at him and tells Abner to run and tell the postmaster. Abner runs out door in moonlight saying “ Mah Sweet Li’l Pappy Gotta Pay Fo’ His (Gulp!) Sweet Innercent Crime!!” Third panel has “Al Capp” ink signature. Capp has titled the strip “Duty Before Love!!” at top left margin. Complete w/United Feature Syndicate sticker in panel four. Panels have a few minor corrections, otherwise VF/Exc. Well drawn funny example w/whole Yokum family.
