Item Description
Published Aug. 1944. Artist unknown. Thin art boards are each 14.25x22.5”w/12.25x18” India ink image areas. WWII story line has Ensign Dewey and his crew enjoying a meal of giant guppies to celebrate a victory, then leaving in their Sea Devil submarine. In the meantime Japanese soldiers have invaded an island to kidnap native girls for “Entertainment”. The Sea Devil torpedoes their ship and the crew goes on shore to rescue the girls. Story ends w/the crew being served a live fish meal as thanks. Margins have notations and aging, first page missing title photo stat leaving glue stain. Image areas have lt. dust soil here and there, but art itself will mat and frame to Fine/VF appearance. Extremely well done w/some great “good girl” graphics. From the Don Maris Collection.
