Item Description
4.25x6.25" protective cover w/imprint "Republica De Cuba Pasaporte" contains stamped and dated 32 page passport for 1955-56. Rogelio has signed the passport in four different spots, all in ink. Attached to page two is his photo which has stamped seal. Several pages have inked info and/or date/location stamps. His occupation is noted as "Sportsman." Rogelio aka "Ice Cream" and "Mantecado" was an outfielder and first baseman who played pro baseball for over a decade, 1936-1948. He played in the Mexican, Cuban and Negro leagues (New York Cubans 1940, 1943-46). During his career, teammates included Alejandro Oms, Cool Papa Bell, Lazaro Salazar and Wild Bill Wright. Moderate wear and aging as to be expected from use but overall Fine. All four signatures are bold and Exc. A unique personal artifact. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake’s COA and JSA LOA.
