Item Description
The size of a small poster 14x17” with four original fold lines and overall NM. Printed and hand inked text in top paragraph reads “Tally List Of The General Election, Held At The House Of Mrs. Martha Simmons In Crop Creek District, Composed Crop Creek Township On The 2d Tuesday Of October 1863, Being The 13th Day, Between The Hours Of 8 O’clock, A.M. And 7 O’clock P.M.” This area is southwest of Pittsburgh. The township voted 84 for Governor Andrew C Curtin and 132 for opponent George W. Woodward, but Curtin was re-elected. Listed offices range from Governor at top to “Director Of The Poor” at bottom. Document is ink signed by “Clerks” Lysander Patterson and H.C. Anderson.
