Item Description
Each is 5x7” original glossy w/”Spooner & Wells, Inc. Photographers” ink stamp on back w/NYC address and player's name in pencil. Most show player in uniform, many in action, a few are candid w/player in civilian clothes. Includes: Jack Quinn who had 23 seasons in the majors, Jack Doyle who was the first pinch hitter and had 17 National League seasons, Frank Laporte who led Federal League w/107 RBI’s in 1914, Neal Ball who played seven Major League seasons and holds the record for most errors ever made by a rookie. Lt. handling creases here and there, lt. age curling, a few margins are trimmed a bit. Overall Fine/VF. Originally one of the AL's eight charter franchises, the club was founded in Baltimore in 1901 as the Baltimore Orioles. The team moved to New York City in 1903 and became the New York Highlanders and took the "Yankees" as their official name in 1913. An historic and impressive instant collection.
