Item Description
c. 1950s. Bill Justice pencil art is on 8.5x10-7/8” sheet of “Mickey Mouse Club Mouseketeers” stationery w/printed art at top of two Mouseketeers. Illustrated letter to “Cathie-Gregory+ Douglas” has art of them as three Mouseketeers. Justice notes “Please Watch The Mickey Mouse Club This Thursday- I’ll Be Drawing Jiminy Cricket” w/arrow pointing to Jiminy art. Justice then draws himself holding pencil writing “Thanks For Your Letter-Love-Bill”. He adds “P.S. Jimmie Dodd Talks About Kayak At The End Of The Show On Friday” w/dog drawing. He adds “Always Be Good Mouseketeers” in blue pencil at bottom. Numerous folds, lt. creases, tan moisture mark at upper left. Good. Dodd snapshot is 3.25x4-1/8” showing him in suit w/two women and man. Signed in pencil on reverse “ Hi, Cathie And Greg! Be Good Mouseketeers! Your Friend Jimmie Dodd”. Front moisture mark shows through a bit on back, lower left corner has diagonal crease. Just Fair. Despite problems, an interesting pair of “Mickey Mouse Club” related items. Bill Justice (1914-2011) began as an animator w/Disney in 1937 and is known for his work on Thumper from “Bambi” and “Chip ‘N Dale”. Jimmie Dodd (1910-1964) was emcee of the show and wrote and sang “The Mickey Mouse Club March”.
