Item Description
Strip #693 ©1933 King Features. 6.75x26” thin art board has 5.25x24-7/8” india ink art w/four panels for Dec.6. First three panels have Tim becoming trapped by an angry native w/spear at the edge of a cliff. They begin struggling while friend Spud and his friendly panther Fang look for natives near where Tim is in trouble. Art is signed by creator Lyman Young in panel three, but has been drawn by his young assistant Alex Raymond. Complete w/syndicate sticker in panel four. Tiny piece off upper right blank corner tip, image area is clean and Exc. Raymond learned his craft while working on “Tim Tyler” from late 1931 to late 1933. His classic “Flash Gordon” debuted in January 1934, along w/”Jungle Jim” and “Secret Agent X-9”. Superb ink work by a master of the medium.
