Item Description
7x10-3/8” letter hand written in fountain pen dated “Feb. 21st” on “Grace Drayton Studio” stationery. Content includes “Yes, Indeed, I Am The Artist of the ‘Campbell’s Soup Kiddies’ and I originated Them Many Years Ago-They Seem To Be Beloved By Both Young and Old”. Lower left corner has ink sketch of dog saying “Woof-Woof My Name is Comfy”. Drayton mentions dog is “Named and Drawn from My Own Little Dog”. Signed “Very Sincerely Yours Grace G. Drayton”. Two lt. horizontal folds as mailed, a few lt. handling creases, otherwise VF. Drayton is also noted for the “Dimples” and “Pussycat Princess” comic strips. Wonderful personal content by a gifted female illustrator.
