Item Description
Pen and watercolor drawing on 9x12” stiff art paper done in the 1990s but reminiscent of the Golden Age with large Batman image wearing cape w/ bats and moonlight, a nod to the Bat symbol. Signed "Sheldon 'Shelly' Moldoff." Moldoff (1920-2012) was Bob Kane's first assistant on Batman and became a premiere Golden Age artist drawing Hawkman. NM. Comes w/two handwritten letters from 1998, each 8.5x11”, on Moldoff’s personal stationary sent to Hake’s Americana founder Ted Hake regarding art consignments. This is the last of eight originals mentioned. Both are signed “Shelly” and have images of Batman and Hawkman printed at bottom. Exc. Great trio to frame together.
