7.25x23” thin art board has 6.5x21.75” india ink image area w/four panels for July 8. Titled in ink at top “The Blow Must Go On”. Villain Hogan is planning a raid. Pretty Sunflower tells him how bad the weather is, but he tells her “You Will Lead The Troops In Person”. Cartoonist-creator Milton Caniff didn’t sign the art when it was published. Bottom margin has ink inscription to noted mystery author “ For Max Allan Collins-To Make An Honest Woman Of Sunflower, By Finally Signing The Drawing. Regards- Milton Caniff Palm Springs, 26 Oct. 78”. Top margin has ink inscription “To Roger in hopes you’ll enjoy this as much as I did! Max Collins”. Exc. Complete w/Sun Times copyright sticker. Superb example of Caniff’s brush work.
