19.5x29" frame contains ©1918 poster printed by The Strobridge Litho. Co. Amazing graphics show "Marvelously Trained Elephants In New Novel Acts" and shows a total of 12 pachyderms, five in bkg. performing typical elephant circus acts and seven in front in various costumes. Center elephant wears football uniform and kicks ball; two in Scottish garb including kilts (one playing bagpipes); one in full clown outfit complete w/painted face, another (w/clown face image on head) holds drum in trunk that is played by clown elephant's tail; remaining two elephants wear Rough Riders outfits, one carries rifle, the other carries American flag. 2.75" tear at top center but blends as framed. Poster was folded and has some color touch-ups to fold crease intersections. Displays VF as framed. Among the best elephant circus posters we've seen.
