Item Description
2.5x5x6.75" tall tin litho wind-up with build-in key is marked "Made In Germany". Copyright 1922 Fontaine Fox. Nicely designed toy includes die-cut tin figure of the skipper. Toy works and when wound, travels forward in a rocking motion. Toy is designed to stop and shake slightly as the skipper turns the control before it continues on its way. All functions work. Darkening of paint is typical of this toy. Trace of lt. aging. Fine. Die-cast trolley is 1x3x3.25" tall copyright 1923 F. Fox. Scarcer orange/silver color variety. Smoke stack and wire attachment have broken off top. Repairs have been made to fill in holes. Two small holes on sides. VG. Nicely detailed pair.
