Dick Lundy is also in the photo. Photo has moderate handling creases with heavier crease at upper right corner. Good. A sharp clear image. The team played in the second Negro National League from 1936 to 1948 and was formed when Abe Manley and his wife Effa Manley, founders of the Brooklyn Eagles, purchased the Newark Dodgers franchise and merged the two teams. Effa managed the team, making her the first woman who owned and operated a professional baseball team. The team won the 1946 Negro League World Series, beating the Kansas City Monarchs. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
