Item Description
The Bismarck Churchills won the 1935 National Semi-Pro Baseball Tournament in Wichita, Kansas (see team photo item #1263). Two piece uniform consists of 31" tall size 42 flannel jersey made by Gold Smith Athletic Goods Cincinnati, Ohio with second collar tag for "Reinhard Brothers Co. Minneapolis." Lettering on front/back and number on back are stitched felt. Pants are 33.5" long with button fly. Some lt. dust soil and aging, we assume from being worn during game play. Fine/VF. Research has revealed the team roster for 1936 but not who wore #3. The team went 40-8-1. Players included: Joe Desiderato, Ted Radcliffe, Axel Leary, Hilton Smith, Quincy Trouppe, Johnny Lyles, Red Haley, Jonas Gaines, Harold Massman, Benie Tate, Ted Trent, Steve Slefka, Mike Goetz, Steel Arm Davis, and Barney Morris. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
