Item Description
4-7/8x6-7/8" nice quality matte finish photo showing Heredia in civilian clothes is boldly signed at bottom in fountain pen ink. Text is in Spanish and loosely translates to "For Heberto And Magda My Sincere Appreciation Napoleon Heredia Monterrey 17 July/1945". Reverse side has photographer ink stamp "Jasso Fotos Broadway" w/ink stamp date matching date photo was signed. Emulsion has yellowed with age and photo has trace of lt. dust soil. Fine. Ramon Heredia was a right handed third basemen for the New York Cuban Negro League baseball team 1939-41 and again in 1945. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
