Item Description
Each is approx. 7.25x9" matte finish with ink stamp on reverse for Spanish publication "Archivo Bohemia Feb 13 1949". Each has paper caption and ink text in Spanish on reverse noting Irvin and his daughter Pamela are visiting Mrs. Irvin who is convalescing from an intestinal infection in hospital. Reverse sides have bit of surface wear from previous mounting in corners. Fronts are Exc. Irvin was a five-time Negro League All-Star before joining the New York Giants on July 8, 1949; the same year these photos were taken. He played with the Giants from 1949 to 1955 and with the Chicago Cubs in 1956. He was inducted into the National Baseball HOF in 1973 and the San Francisco Giants retired his #20 uniform in 2010. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
