Item Description
c. 1930s. Set consists of ten characters and a bungalow. Missing heavy cardboard 9x11” base that held the 6.5” tall composition tree stump bungalow with printed tag on front. Some minor edge paper loss on top of stump. Stump has two cardboard window frames on either side of door, one has no window panes the other has both with one attached on one side only. Top of door frame is repaired from behind and missing bottom. Door is on wire hinges that swing open and back of door lists all ten characters included in this set. Manufactured by Androscoggin Pulp Co. South Wyndham, Maine. Text inside door also reads “Protected By Original Copyright Of Uncle Wiggily And His Hollow Stump Bungalow.” Scattered paint loss and dust soiling. Comes with 10 two-sided characters, each attached to 1.75x.75" bases with one on 1.25" dia. wood base. Characters include Uncle Wiggly, Nurse Jane, Baby Bunty, Uncle Butter, The Fox, The Pipsisewam and four others. Lt. wear. VF. Rare. From the Carl Lobel Collection.
