Item Description
16x20.25" textured wood frame has archival mat with 10.5x14.75" opening revealing nice litho pencil art of pretty girl sitting on older man's lap. Reverse side has second mat with 7x10.75" opening revealing pencil preliminary for this art along with "Art Dep't Memo" label filled out in ink with instruction for engraver dated January 15, 1909 for March '09 issue of "Success". This art was one of ten used in story "The Spoiled Parent" in the issue. Left side of image area has 1.5x13.75" moisture mark and upper right corner has bit of foxing in 1.25x1.25" area. VG overall. Initialed "M.T." at lower left corner. Maud Tousey Fangel (1881-1968) married the art director of Good Housekeeping magazine, Guy Fangel, and produced covers and interior illustrations for many magazines as well as advertisements during the first half of the 20th century.
