Item Description
c. 1950s. Interesting pair for Youngstown, Ohio local TV space show on WKBN TV. Die-cut thin cardboard mask is 8.25x11.5" copyright Leta L-500. Mask has large text "WKBN-TV Space Ranger" with emblem designation "Satellite Scout" along with image of rocket blasting into space with planet at left and satellite at right. A few tiny creases around edges, original rubber band on reverse is missing small piece but mask otherwise has Fine appearance. Comes with 3.25x5.5" postcard with text "Ranger No.8908" with image of funky space man sidekick Colonel Bleep with space for member photo at lower right including text "Member In Good Standing Entitled To Compete For Fun And Prizes When He Watches Channel 27 For Our Show" with facsimile signatures of Major Ted and Colonel Bleep. Recipient has filled out his name and address in ink in proper place. Card has light tanning and has bit of dark tanning at upper left and lower right from cellophane tape no longer present. VG/Fine. Postally unused. Interesting and nicely designed pair.
