Item Description
This three dimension piece of some type of hard plaster stands 4" tall and has a rounded dome base so that it wobbles around when touched. The item was inspired by Taft's fondness for baseball which includes being first president to throw season opening "First Pitch" which he did April 14, 1910 for the Washington Senators at Griffith Stadium in D.C. Taft also is often credited with initiating the seventh inning stretch. This item is a great likeness of him smiling and holding a baseball in one hand. Reverse reads "Our Mascot." Underside rim reads "Bill The Beamer Co. New York Copyright 1909 By T.H. Trant." The front brim of hat has been professionally replaced with a near perfect match and all displays Exc. Scarce.
