Item Description
All items relate to appearances at Jules Podell’s Copacabana Nightclub. Includes pair of November 7, 1957 contracts, both signed in ink by Peggy Lee and Jules Podell. Each has pair of onionskin riders stapled in place noting instruments and rehearsal hours allotment. Each is initialed in ink twice by Lee and Podell. Also includes onionskin rider stating “The Artist Is An Independent Contractor” initialed by Lee. Comes with April 29, 1958 typewritten letter signed in ballpoint pen “Peggy Lee” thanking Podell for the wonderful time she had and inviting “You And Yours” for dinner or cocktails. Has attached onionskin unsigned carbon copy thanking Lee for letter noting “I Shall Certainly Take Advantage Of Your Generous Standing Invitation When I Get To The Coast”. Includes sheet filled out in pencil noting which part of band is paid for by club and which part is paid for by Lee. Group comes with 2.5x3.75" laminated “Cabaret And Public Dance Hall Employees” I.D. card signed in blue ballpoint pen “Peggy Lee” with her thumb print and photo on front and her real name of Norma D. Egstrom typed on back. Card was issued November 12, 1965. Final item is four page promo folder for Lee’s appearance at club. Scattered lt. wear here and there but overall group is Fine/VF.
