Item Description
c. late 1930s. Art boards range in size from 6.5x9-3/8" to 9x9-1/8". Each has well drawn aviation action scene in India ink. Scenes include plane shooting at other plane which has burst into flames with wing ripping off followed by two other planes, plane going down in smoke but firing on attacking plane, plane firing on tail area of large plane which is followed by four other planes with skull and crossbones on them, and dark plane flying into thunderclouds. First and fourth illustrations are signed in ink at bottom A. McWilliams. Some lt. dust soil here and there, second illustration has diagonal crease running across whole bottom, third illustration has 4.75" diagonal crease at top. Overall VG/Fine. Superb ink work with great detail. None are shown in Flying Aces magazine lot # 2071.
