Item Description
2.25x4.75x1” deep mailing box contains complete Wheaties premium from 1941 with exception of a brown balloon which disintegrated. Top of box includes illustration of 3 children at a microphone, side panels depict various scenes in which the items of this premium could be used to produce sound effects including a speeding train, thunderstorm, fire truck, etc. Back of box has Jack Armstrong at microphone mailing label and has microphone illustration. Lt. dust and creases to box but Fine. Kit includes a 4.5x12.5” bw sheet with image of a microphone. This was to be cut out and wrapped around the mailing box and a broom handle was then inserted into one end to serve as the complete microphone. As originally packaged in the box, this sheet has scattered margin wear, scattered trace of browning but still VF. There is a large 10x27” two-sided paper with complete instructions and “Spy Hunt” script. Script was to be performed by children who were to use the items in this kit to produce the sound effects. Sheet has overall scattered lt. wear as originally folded. Scattered trace of tanning but still clean and VF. The other items in this kit include 2 different painted tin whistles, small piece of sand paper, sheet of orange cellophane paper. A few small pieces of rubber from the balloon adhered to each tin whistle, o/w pieces are Exc. One of the rarest Jack Armstrong premiums. From the Joe Gura Premium Collection.
